Three Things That Got Me Through a Hard Week
It wasn't a dramatic week.
Nothing obvious went wrong. There were no big events to point to. Just a steady heaviness that made everything take more effort than usual. I didn't find answers, but I did find a few small anchors.
1. A predictable routine
Same walk. Same route. Same coffee. Same place to sit. When everything else felt uncertain, familiarity carried me. I didn't need novelty. I needed something that didn't ask questions.
2. One honest conversation
There was no fixing involved. No advice. Just space to say things out loud without being redirected. It didn't solve anything, but it softened the edges. Sometimes that's enough.
3. Going to bed earlier than planned
I stopped trying to extract more from the day. No catching up. No squeezing in one last thing. Just letting it end. There was relief in that decision. Permission, maybe.
Sometimes gratitude isn't about joy.
Sometimes it's about support.
